Nitun Eco Lodge is located in the lush rainforest region of Peten in Northern Guatemala.

Visitors can get to Nitun Eco Lodge by flying on twice daily scheduled flights from Guatemala City or from Belize City to El Mundo Maya Airport in Flores. These flights take 1 hour. We collect guests from the airport and transfer them by land and boat across Lake Peten Itza to the lodge. This 20 minute transfer is a fun and beautiful way to arrive and a perfect start to your stay at Nitun.

Guests can also transfer by land to Nitun Lodge from various locations in Guatemala and Belize. Land transfers from Belize require an easy border crossing. Border fees will apply so ask us for the latest information and rates when you contact us. If you are transferring in from Belize we recommend including a stop to visit Xunantunich Maya site in Belize or Yaxha Maya site in Guatemala to make the most of your transfer day. Contact us for details.

Typical transfer times include:

  • Rio Dulce, Guatemala – 3 hours
  • Guatemala City – 8-10 hours
  • Copan, Honduras – 8-10 hours
  • San Ignacio, Belize – 3 hours
  • Chaa Creek Lodge – 3 hours
  • Ka’ana Lodge – 2 hours
  • Blancaneaux Lodge – 4 hours

A fabulous way to access Guatemala and to get to Nitun Eco Lodge is to come via the Maya sites of Palenque and Yaxhilan in Mexico. Pass through the border at Bethel and transfer by boat and road to Nitun Lodge. We can arrange a multi-day package that includes these sites and also a night at Petexbatun Lodge and visits to Aguateca and Ceibal should you wish to include these in your itinerary.
